KS2 Geography - Landscape, Rivers and Settlements

Here are some examples of what your class can do at the Northmoor Trust. Remember these are just a few of the options that are available.
To discuss your needs telephone the Education Team on 01865 409408

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly
Using simple fieldwork techniques pupils will be asked to comment on the landscape around them.
The information they gather will then be used to explore the impact of any changes they wish to make on the local landscape.
The pupils will get the chance to experience our new centre Project Timescape and use the 4x2.5m aerial map.

Locks, Weirs and Wildlife
Deposition, erosion, tributary, meander, walk along the banks of the Thames and spot all of these features and more.

Find out how a lock works and what people are using the river for. Pupils will start to understand how the path of rivers have changed over time and how they have shaped this landscape.

Compare and Contrast
Using the village of Little Wittenham pupils will be asked to compare it to their local surroundings and comment on the differences.
Using Project Timescape pupils will be asked to find out how and why the village and surrounding area has changed through time.
