Reduce, Reuse & Recycle
Each household in the UK produces about one tonne of rubbish every year! That's a lot of rubbish - about enough to fill a double decker bus!
What Happens To Rubbish?
Most of the rubbish put out for the bin man ends up going to landfill sites or for incineration. Both cause pollution.
About a quarter of all the rubbish you put in your bin could actually be recycled. Make sure you're not sending rubbish to landfill sites that could be recycled.
Recycling
- saves natural resources
- saves energy
- reduces pollution
